Scrolling text on web page

I have been using and editing a web page that was created with Word
2002 for a couple of years. It contains "scrolling text" that is
changed from time to time. Last summer I loaded Office 2003 onto my
computer. I had also installed Windows SP2 to my XP Home version OS
last spring. Now as I go to change scrolling text before uploading
the latest version of the web page, it displays as a box with an "X"
in the center in "edit view" similar to images that won't display when
browsing the web. When I click the scrolling text icon on the "web
tools" tool bar, it displays a message saying the object is created
with "marquee" and that its location or shortcut has been changed.
The strange thing about it is that I have edited the scrolling text
since loading XP2 and Office 2003. I did a reload on Office 2003,
asking for the "repair installation" option. Still no Marquee. Could
this be controlled by some obscure security setting that was changed
by a subsequent Windows auto-update process?
