Scrolling through a Word document with the mouse pad

I cannot get my mouse pad to scroll through a Word 2007 document. I can only
use the scroller on my external mouse. Does any one know what setting I have
to change in order to scroll with the mouse pad? Or is this problem unique
to my computer?
