Scrolling thru records and noshow on open

How do I keep from being able to scroll thru records on a
form? I have a view form and an edit form and on both of
those I can scroll thru all the records. Also on my
startup form, it shows the first or next record on open.
I would like that to be blank. Someone told me to set the
Data Entry property to yes, but if I do that, when I use
my combo box or text box to enter the record I want to
display, it gives me an error, No Current Record. Okay
one more question, can someone tell me where to start. In
the Enter Emp No txt box, when I enter a number for a
record that does not exist it displays the first or next
record. I want it to give an error.

in regards to the scroll problem: in the properties list
for the form, look down the list for "cycle". You will
find it under the "All" tab and the "Other" tab. Select
either current record or current page instead of all
records.
