Scrolling with scroll wheel is really slow using PPT 2004 for OS X

I'm not sure this is the right area to post, but I just got the microsoft
wireless optical mouse 4000 and have also installed the latest drivers from
microsoft. I have also updated to office v 11.2.3. I'm on OS X 10.4.5. The
scroll is only slow in ppt. This happens on a blank slide that is zoomed in
no graphics or other elements imported at all. Scrolling works well in Word
and Excel. Can anyone direct me to the right resources to fix this? Is
there a fix for this?
