Scrolls too fast!!

How do you stop Word scrolling too fast when you are
selecting a certain amount of text, some of which is
further down off the screen?

E.g. you select some text halfway down the screen, and
want to stop the selection at a point just off the screen.
You move the cursor to the bottom the screen and it
whizzes right to the bottom of the document before you
have a chance to stop at the point you wanted to!!

Thanks

Hi Ed

It's not just you. It's a problem in all Word versions until Word 2002.

The standard workaround is to click where you want the selection to
start, scroll till you see where you want the selection to end,
hold down the Shift key then click to mark the end of the selection.

Hope this helps.

Rate of acceleration is related to how far close to the bottom of the screen
you hold the cursor.

To select a block of text, click where you want to start selecting, use the
scroll bar or your mouse wheel to scroll until you can see where you want to
stop.

Hold down the shift key.

With the Shift key on your keyboard held down, click where you want the end
of your selection to come. Let go of the shift key and press Copy,Cut etc
depending on what you want to do with the text.
