Using Outlook 2007 SP2/XP SP3 with Windows Search 4.0.
Searching within folders works fine, but often when I search across
all folders I get a "Searching..." message but no results ever appear.
This doesn't happen 100% of the time, but I haven't been able to
identify any different conditions when it occurs and when it does not.
Interestingly, creating a "virtual folder" with my desired search
appears to work even when a regular search does not.
I have several mailboxes -- one OST and a few PSTs. I have my "All
Mail Items" set to only search the main mailbox (the OST). If I switch
it to only search one of the PSTs, and uncheck the main mailbox, the
searches perform properly and give quick results.
Any suggestions how to troubleshoot?
