Search and Find function on other worksheets

What I am trying to do is compare data from one worksheet
to another worksheet. I am trying to see if data from one
worksheet is contained in another worksheet.

Starting in cell A1

16
24
51
83
102
163

I want to tell cell B2 if number 16(cell A2) is in column
A in a different worksheet to put some value. I do not
care what the value is, just so I know that it was in the
previous worksheet. I am trying to find new entries. My
problem is that if the value for cell A2 is cell A14 in
another worksheet, it wont find it.

I tried the Search and Find functions:

=Search(A2, Sheet1!A1:A1000), but it shows an error if it
is not in the same location. Please email me at

Thank you, it worked like a charm. I feel foolish for
spending so much time trying to figure it out myself.
