Search and replace HTML tags in Word 2003

I'm consolidating information from a number of publicly accessible websites
and consolidating that information into a single Word 2003 document for
providing to people requesting license plate information. All of the
information is available from the state's website, but not all license plate
purchasers have access to this information.

I need to remove some HTML formatting tags to get rid of excess white space
on the document and save on the amount of paper being used.

In this case, the HTML tags are <p> </p>. There is no data between the
paragraph tags, as the intent is to provide a blank line between paragraphs
on the website display. When the paired tags display in Word 2003, the
visual display on the monitor is the degree symbol and paragraph symbol.

If you wish to replicate what I'm seeing, here's one of the web pages I'm
copying from:

In this case, I am only copying and pasting the table and table contents,
and then pasting into Word.

I would like to remove all of the above mentioned HTML tag pairs using
Search and Replace, but I can't figure out how to enter the HTML tags into
the Search and Replace fields, assuming it can be done.

I'm sure everyone can understand I'm not looking forward to doing this
manually through 82 pages in Word! LOL

What you are describing is a nonbreaking space followed by a paragraph mark.
The result is a not-quite-empty paragraph, and what you want to search for
is ^p^s^p and replace with ^p.
