Search and Replace in Word 2007

I have just noticed strange behaviour in Word 2007. I was replacing the
phrase "ITBM" with "Service Desk". However, the replaced text had been
changed to upper case. I then ticked the Match Case search option and it
then replaced the text with the correct case. Now I always thought that
Match Case option was refering to the search phrase not the replacement
text. Is this a bug or has the behaviour changed?

I've just checked in Word Pad and it does not show this behaviour.

If you replace the text "UPPER CASE" with the text "lower case" and have the
Match Case checkbox ticked:

UPPER CASE gets replaced with LOWER CASE
upper case does not get replaced

with the checkbox un-ticked:

UPPER CASE gets replaced with lower case
upper case get replaced with lower case

So it must be a new feature or a bug.
