I use Word for Windows at work. I am used to navigating the Search &
Replace dialogue box with the keyboard and not needing the mouse at
all. However, on my Mac, I find that this is impossible. When I open
the same dialogue, I try to tab within it, as in the Windows version,
but find nothing happens. Can someone tell me how to work within Search

& Replace without the mouse? Thanks.

Use ctrl+tab and Shift+tab to switch between options and then apple+F to
start finding or Aplle+A to replace all...

You can do the whole thing with the keyboard.

cmd-shift-h to bring up the dialog
Tab to cycle between "find what" and "replace with" If this does not
work, check your settings in system preferences » keyboard and mouse »
keyboard shortcuts » full keyboard access. You might try hitting
ctrl-F1 to toggle full keyboard access off and on.
Although in my experiments I could not make tabbing between the text
boxes fail no matter which of those settings I had. To make sure there
is nothing funny with your Mac, see if you can tab around other dialog
boxes in other applications.
You can use cmd-A to replace all.
Return for find next
and cmd-R to replace the current found item
finally escape or cmd-. dismisses the dialog.
cmd-opt-y is useful when the dialog is closed to go on finding the same
thing.

As little_creature says ctrl-tab may be used to scamper across the
options at the top of the dialog box
