search bar on home page

am having trouble with the search bar on the home page i took my comp into
shop as it needed formating and they left the search bar so what ever i type
stays on i dont like it like that so does anyone know how i can stop it from
doing that please.

id be gratefull if someone new how i can stop it thank you
