Search Component - Specific part of page

Steve

Hello,

My website allows users to post and browse ads for specific products. When a
visitor posts an ad it goes into a list on an individual page. Right now it
is set up so the visitor has to browse through the page where the ads are
posted and I want to make that easier. Is there anyway I can add a search
component that will search the page where the ads are listed. The list of ads
is lenghty and I want to make it easier for the visitor. Is this possible and
how do I do it? If I cannot do this can you reccomend anything else?

Bravenet uses Apache servers.

Does your domain account have the web masters CPanel??
If so, go to the CGI center and enable Entropy Search and follow the
instructions to add a search box to your pages.

However you will need to rebuild the search index before changes will be
able to be found with the search function, which means you will need to
rebuild it almost daily.

Are try to find a way to show the person that just posted their ad, how their ad looks after they
posted it?

What is your current method of displaying these ads?

i used a the form wizzard for visitors to post their ad. i changed the "send
to" settings to a normal page so the ads can be browsed publicly. to browse
through the ads they go to that page. all i want is a search component that
can search the material on that page.

The FP Search component will search the page for the text, but like most search function will not
take a user to the direct spot on the page.

this script is exactly somthing that i need but there is a problem. the
content on the page is inserted by a form. i place "form results inserted
here" text and im good. can this script search through the content from the
forum or just the text originally on the page? or is it just me?

S
