This sounds like a publishing problem. If publishing via
FTP, be sure to publish the Entire site, including all
hidden folders. If publishing through FrontPage, consult:

FrontPage Publish Command Fails

2. When i do a search on the live site, the results it
returns include the web reports that are generated by
the godaddy server. How do I eliminate these from
public view? I am a novice so all I know is that
these reports appear when I upload

Convert the folder that contains the reports into a subweb.
3. the graphic for the search component does not show,
just the red x

What graphic? It this is a file that you added to your
site, you probably forgot to publish it.
thank you in advance for your help!

3) the MSN link for the image is broken at the MSN site
You can just delete the image or in html/code view delete
<a href="http://www.msn.com"><img src="http://r.office.microsoft.com/r/rlidFPMsnSearchBot" width="61" height="33" border="0" alt="Go
to msn.com"></a>

I made the stats report a subweb, by right clicking it and choosing 'Convert to Web'
Now when I use the search feature on the live site I get the following message

Error from search: 2can't open the inverted index file /home/content/L/S/c/LSchaefer/html/_vti_txt/default.wti/All.inv

No documents found. Please try again

What do I need to fix? Thanks for your help!

Open the live site in FP, then run Tools | Recalculate Hyperlinks.
