"Search Folders" config for doc retention policy

Is it possible to config "Search Folders" and then copy or export or apply
them via a GP?

We are working on a document retention policy and need to give the users a
tool to finally start managing their email. Our first step is to identify
mail older than 2000 then 2001 and so on. I've been playing around with
search folders, it looks like it will work but one problem is I would have to
go to each client and configure the search folders.

I've also been playing around with recipient policies Exchange server side
but they don't work that well.

Maybe some else knows of a third party util that might do what I'm looking
to do?

Any help would be great.

Thanx

Not with GPO but you can create them with scripts. The tricky part is that Outlook needs to be running when you invoke its Application.AdvancedSearch and Search.Save methods. .
