Hello,

I have configured a IMAP account in Outlook 2007. IMAP servers have the
capability to search server side with the IMAP4 Search command. Anyone knows
Outlook is using this server side capabilities ? or is Outlook always
searching locally (client side operation) ?

Locally, I believe. Outlook creates a mirror image (an .OST file) of your
IMAP inbox that is synchronized every time you send/receive, a search would
use this local mirror image. This also allows you to search while not
connected to the IMAP server.
