Search folders utility not searching all folders and limiting the

selectively some search folders that I wanted to create today are not
searching all the folders or beyond a certain date. I have gone in and
created customized searches, redone searches that are working ok and they
still are, tried using the preprogrammed search options and no go...

Suggestions?
