Search for formatting codes?

Is there any way to use the Find command to search for formatting codes, such
as the code to color text characters?

That's not the way Word works.

Unlike, say, the old WordPerfect, there aren't "formatting codes" that
apply colors to text that follows.

Instead, font color is a property of a range of text (e.g., character,
word, paragraph, section, document).

You CAN use Find to find colored text:

Choose Edit/Find.

Type ^? (the special code for "any character") in the Find what box.

Click the blue down arrow in the Find and Replace dialog if
necessary to reveal additional Search/Find options.

Click the Format dropdown and choose Font.

Select the color from the Font Palette. Click OK

Click Find Next to find the next character with that color property.
