Search function error, inverted files?

When I try any online search in my search box (FPOff2003), I get this error:

Error from search: 2can't open the inverted index file
/var/www/html/_vti_txt/default.wti/All.inv

No documents found. Please try again.

I've tried recalculating the hyperlinks, to no avail. Any ideas? Thanks,
