Search in password protected pages

If there is text in a password protected page onenote doesn't find it? It
should at least bring you to the page(s) to indicate there is text in that
page that your are looking for.

That is by design. If it were easy for OneNote to search inside of an
encrypted file without having the password which governs the enxryption,
then it would be easy for any piece of software to do the same thing (i.e.
get inside the encrypted file's contents without needing the password).
The contents would not be very well protected and what would the point be?

It does tell you at the top of the Page List when displaying the search
results that it could not search inside X number of encrypted pages that
were part of the search scope. If you unlock those pages you will be able
to search the contents.
