Search inbox w/o new window

Operating System: Mac OS X 10.5 (Leopard)
Processor: Intel
Email Client: Exchange

I re-installed/updated entourage on my Mac. Before the search would produce results w/o opening a new window. Now the search always opens a new window.

How do I go back to the previous behavior?

How are you searching? I simply use the Search field in the upper right
corner of the Main Window. This does not open any other windows.
