search / indexing function not working for Contacts

Hi, does anyone know why the search function in Contacts doesnt work?
The entries are there if i scroll through and find them, but the
search does not bring it up.The Indexing status appears to be
complete, however. I'm on Outlook 2007 on Windows XP. I dont have this
problem in the Mail section. Frustrating to not have the function
available!
