Search keeps breaking

Hi,

i am running Outlook 2007.
Windows search keeps failing for me. it works, then after a few weeks, it
stops. i'll search for the word "the" and only 6 emails would come up from
the past 3 days, out of 6,700 emails in that folder.
the regular "advanced find" doesn't work any better. this problem has
followed me to my new computer.
any suggestions?
