Search not looking at text within angle brackets

Greetings

Here is the scenerio
- Windows XP
- Outlook 2007 on Exchange 2003
- Windows Search 4.0 installed
- Windows search enabled for email profile and indexing complete

- There is an email with the following text ...
"Could not deliver the message in the time limit specified. Please retry or
contact your administrator.
< mirapoint.hunter.cuny.edu #4.4.7 smtp; 450 4.2.2 Over quota>
"
- This is text from a bounce back email.

What is happening:
- If i search for text in the angle brackets (e.g. 'quota'), I don't get a
result. If I search for text outside the brackets (e.g. 'retry') I get a
result.

So, how can i search within the angle brackets?

Thanks

Angled brackets are used to denote HTML elements. It might be that Outlook
is viewing the statement as an element and thus ignoring it. Try changing
your settings to plain text and then searching again.

Hi

I changed it in two places to text only.
I removed the email profile from windows search, and added it back, waited
for indexing to complete, but its still the same.

Any other ideas?

Thanks

I was thinking that you were having problems searching within Outlook.
Windows Search is beyond me. You might want to google around and look for
support outside of an Outlook-specific news group. I'm willing to bet that
if you save the email as a text file that it doesn't show up as well which
if that does happen then its an Search problem as opposed to Outllook issue.
