i'm using microsoft office version beta 2

i cannot get the search to find any words either in my documents in the
program or on any of the onenote pages.
the search does however find excel or word documents and its contents

What version of OneNote are you using? The beta builds are not very robust
with search -- the RTM should be far better in that regard.

You are better off installing the B2TR patch. Search was basically
broken in Beta 2.
