Search & Replace

hi, could someone please advice how i could do a global search & replace on a
CAPITALISED word and replace it a lowercase word?

i seem to be only able to search/replace from lowercase to UPPERCASE, but
not the other way around..

i'm using MS Office Word 2003 (SP1).

thanks in advance,

After you've gotten the Search/replace screen up, click on the More button,
and there you can check a box to make the search case-sensitive.

Hi Tom,
thanks for your advice. are you referring to the "Match Case" option under
Search Options? that only allows me to find words according to the
capitalisation specified in the "Find what" field..
what i need to do is to find a specific capitalised word and replace that
was a word that is not capitalised. but MS Word seems to keep replacing it
with a capitalised word.
e.g. i search for the word "COMPANY" and replace it with "Microsoft" but
each time it replaces the word "COMPANY" to "MICROSOFT" instead of
"Microsoft".

however, i'm able to search and replace "microsoft" to "MICROSOFT" with no
problems..

Thanks.

LY,

No it works, it is just fickle.

Start with a clean slate.

Type COMPANY COMPANY COMPANY

Edit>Replace>More>Check Match Case

Type in COMPANY in the Find what field
Type in Microsoft in the Replace with Field

Replace all

The result is

Microsoft Microsoft Microsoft

Hey you're right; it works after i shutdown and restarted MS Word.. thought
i'd tried that before - guess i'm too muddled up with this all nighter i'm
pulling : }
Thanks folks. at least i can go to bed now with peace of mind..
