I am a former WordPerfect X3 users and have used WordPerfect for 12 years of
more. My law firm is converting completely to Word 2007, which I love.
However, there seems to be one thing lacking from Word that WordPerfect has
an advantage on - the ability to search for a particular word or words in
several documents within directories to see what documents the word(s) appear
in; also, the searching ability to see what documents had been modified on a
particular day-- today, yesterday, last week, last month, etc. Please let
me know if there is a way to do this. Thank you.

Previous versions of Word had such a search mechanism in the Open dialog. In
Office 2007, this separate search function was removed in favor of the
search mechanism built into Windows Vista, which puts a search box in the
upper right corner of the dialog. This totally ignores the fact that huge
numbers of Office 2007 users run on Windows XP, and probably will do so
until their computers drop dead.

If you are running on Windows XP, you can press Windows key + F to start up
the Windows search dialog, and use its "word or phrase in the file" box.
