Searching all subfolders

I just upgraded to Outlook 2007, and always want to search all
subfolders when I'm looking for a message. It took me a while to
discover that I must select browse (even if I'm already at the correct
folder to search), then check that button before making a search.

So I've been looking for a setting to keep this always checked. Is
there such a setting?

My copy of Outlook 2007 searches subfolders by default......that's from the
All Mail Items search...

Is this with Advanced Find or Instant Search (Windows Desktop Search) ?

Advanced Find.

(Whenever I get an upgrade, the first thing I try to do is find out
how to do stuff I always did with the old version).

AFAIK, there isn't a setting that controls the default. Instant Search has
an option for his folder or all folders, but it doesn't apply to Advanced
Find.

right click on a message, Find All... will use subfolders by default.

Odd that it this wouldn't be available, as the switch that I have to
use each time is so well hidden. (Why would one press "Browse" if one
was already at the correct folder?).

I just tried that after reading your message. It could be a useful
feature.
