I have a data base with many song titles and I want to find all the titles with the word warmth or snow in it.
How do I do that?

Thanks,

Peter

What application? Did you try Find in the Edit menu?

Gee, Peter, "database" means different things to different people:)

*IF* it's an Excel file & *IF* it's set up properly (consecutive columns &
rows with captions in the first row) you can use the AutoFilter feature
located in Data> Filter. Use the Custom option in the title column to filter
for Contains warmth OR Contains snow. See Excel Help on "About Filtering"
for details.

If that isn't what you mean by "database" you'll have to provide a much more
comprehensive description of what you're dealing with & how it's set up.

I'm using Excel.
I did what you said and it worked.
Everything was set up properly and I would have never figured it out myself.

I use Find if I'm looking for just one song to see if I have it in my database. This situation was different. I wanted all the songs that contained the word "warmth".

Thanks to both of you for your help.

Peter
