searching for info

Hello
I have a large customer data base (approx. 4000 - 5000
names, addresses, phone no., etc) I would like to key in a
phone number and have access bring up the information on
that particular person but I'm a little stumped. One
suggestion was a macro? A filter? Etc.?
If anyone can suggest a solution and possibly a little
instruction, I would greatly appreciate it.
Thanks in advance.

Copy the existing form and give it a new name for testing.

In design view, show a header.
make sure your control wizard (on the toolbox) is on.
Click on the Combobox control
and place a combobox in the form's header

The wizard will ask you what you want to do,
choose "Go to a record on this form ..."
The wizard will step you thru the rest of the process.

Save your form.

In form view, select a phone number.
The information in your form should be about the person with that #.
