Searching for text within email saved a .msg format

A new policy for storing files @ work has us saving our emails to a network
drive in "Outlook Message Format". The problem is, we are unable to search
for a string of text within the directory the .msg messages are stored. If
we don't remember the subject line, we are out of luck. This is not working
for us! Anyone?
