Hi all,
Is there some way to search metadata fields in pdf files on a server via vba
inside an access application? What about the data in word files (is that
metadata too?)
Is there a website or some code out there to get me started? I have SOME
automation experience but mostly just reworking existing code....
Just for background (skip if you don't care), I have an app that, among
other things, has the ability to create a system folder associated with each
main record, and then import related files into that folder (word docs, pdf,
excel, anything). But that's all it does. It doesn't really collect any
data from those imported files, it just moves them to the right folder and
displays their names in a window where you can open them or print them)
What I'd like to be able to do is do various levels of searching in those
files. To start, I'd like to be able to search the metadata in pdfs and
whatever the equivalent is in word documents. Maybe at some point I'd like
to do full-text searching, but first things first). Anyway, thanks in
advance for any guidance).
