Searching on the net with VML

Hi

I understand that VML is a text based graphic. Why
therefore can my search engine not pick up this text
through explorer? Also is it normal, when saving as HTML
for each chart to produce about 7 files and then launch
the frame? How can I launch the main visio html?

Hi Alexis,

VML is XML-based but the output in the Visio Save as Web Feature only uses
VML to draw the image maps, and these do not contain any text.

What version of Visio are you using? It is normal for the drawing to
produce many htm files when using the Save as Web feature.

Thanks for your reply Dick,

I am using Visio 2000.
The situation is that we have created a few hundred
process maps in Visio,
and uploaded them with VML to HTML so that I can publish
them on the company
Intranet site.
We also have a Microsoft Index Server on this site, but
need it to be able
to search the process maps too! How can this be done?

Many thanks
Alexis

Hi Alexis,

The VML doesn't contain the info you need, and unfortunately I don't of a
way to get this additional information in your VML output using Visio 2000.

(sorry for the delayed response to your post - I overlooked your reply
inside the recent flood of spam messages in these newsgroups). thanks.
