In Outlook 2003, when I click "Find" on the Outlook toolbar, and type a word
in the "Look for:" box on the Find toolbar in a very large inbox (10,000 or
more items), I notice in the results window that the results do not begin
with the most recent emails - the results list begins with emails from a
couple of months previous and you can watch the list grow from the date a
couple of months ago to further in the past. Users therefore think the Find
function is not working properly. However, if the users waits the full 3 or
4 minutes until the search is totally complete, the results window does show
the most recent emails found at the top of the results window. Does anyone
know why the search does not automatically begin with the most recent emails
so they show at the top of the results window? 95% of the time, users are
looking for an email within the last month, and could stop the search at the
point where they see the email they are looking for instead of having to wait
the full time for the search to complete.
Outlook 2000 did not have this problem. The Find function would show the
most recent emails at the top of the list first.
Any ideas? MarieJ
