Second page header

Tom Thompson

Hi all;

Before I begin the task of creating this macro tommorow, I thought I
would ask the group for advice.

I have been asked to create a letter template that prompts the user
for information then inserts it into the new document. Well, I think I
have this pretty much done with the exception of one small feature
that has been requested.

If the letter goes beyond one page, we would like a header on the
second page that contains the letters subject, addressee name and page
numbers.

I've declaired variables to hold the subject and the name and just
assumed that the page numbers will take care of themselves one that
field is inserted into the headr, but I am unsure of how configure the
rest.

Suggestions and advice??

Thanks!

Tom

If you put the information to be repeated in the header/footer in separate
styles you can use StyleRef fields to repeat that info in your header. In my
letterhead I have a separate style for "Date," another for "Inside Address
Name," and a third for "Reference line." These all are based on the style
"Body Text" which is used for the Body Text of the letter. Download the
Textbox and StyleRef field tutorial from <URL:
http://addbalance.com/word/download.htm> to see how this works. You may want
to look at the other letterhead tutorials while you are at it.
