Secondary installation onto laptop

I'm presently using Office Xp on my desktop and recently
bought a laptop which uses Works. I know Microsoft allows
to install the software onto my laptop, I just can't
remember how to get the software to install. Please help

Have you gotten any help yet? I am having the same

problem! I recently bought a laptop note book, and I
already had the software to install. But I cannot find
the product codes? to enter where it is asked....why is
this so difficult? They want you to buy their products
but they make it hard to install....any ideas?

In order to install Office upgrade programs, you must have

a qualifying product. I have it, but it is on my Desktop
computer. Microsoft allows users to have a copy of Office
on a personal desktop and a laptop computer, or that's what
it says in the read-me file.

This is an UPGRADE! You need to have the base product on all computers that
you wish to upgrade.

It sounds as though you do not have any earlier version on the laptop. In
that case, the upgrade is invalid. You may be able to install the upgrade
on two computers, but only if you have the underlying product also on both.
Sounds like you may not qualify.

Read the license details carefully. Just because you might be allowed to
install XP on a desktop and laptop, that doesn't mean that you can replace
WORKS with OFFICE on your laptop. XP and OFICE are two different products.
You need to be a bit more prescise in what you are saying.

From what you have written, I cannot tell if you are justified in your
complaint, or not.
