I recently started using Word 2003. In a manual chapter I'm working on, I
discovered a section break in the middle of the chapter only because I
printed "section x" and half the chapter printed. I switched to Normal view
to find it--no luck. I turned on the hidden character (show/hide) icon--no
luck. I made sure the Tools>Options>View was set for showing all hidden
characters -- no luck. By using the Section No on the page number/section
number bar at the bottom of the document was I able to locate where the
section break occurred -- apparently in a paragraph mark. Deleting the mark
didn't help. I finally got rid of ithe section break by deleting a couple of
sentences above and below the mark and retyping them.
Does anyone know why I could not see the usual Section Break line in Normal
View or when I clicked the Show/Hide icon? I can see this line for other
section breaks in the document.
I also have no idea why the section break was there. The text was in a
bulleted list -- no columns or other type of text that might have a section
break. Any ideas?
Thank you so much. I depend on this group for learing about Word.
