Section breaks

My appologies -- the previous attempt at this post
got "Sent" before it was completed....

I have a Word 97 document with many sections. The original
document has the following sections that are all only 1
page long, labeled in the footer as follows, with
automatic page numbering:

Exhibit B, Page 1
Exhibit C, Page 1
Exhibit D, Page 1
Acceptance, Page 1
Notice, Page 1

I had to delete the page (and section) for "Exhibit D"

The "Acceptance, Page 1" has now become "Exhibit C, Page
2" and I cannot figure out how to split these pages into 2
sections and re-create the footer "Acceptance, Page 1".

The Help files have not been useful.

Using off-group email, I can attach a copy of the document
for your examination and experimentation.

Thanks John

That's one of Word's traps I'm sure all of us have fallen into once.

If you deleted the page and the section break on its bottom, you are in
fact deleting the content of this section but the section properties of
the next section.

The "Acceptance, Page 1" has now become "Exhibit C, Page
2" and I cannot figure out how to split these pages into 2

I don't see why you'd have to split anything up, but after reading up
the following article, you might be able to sort this out for yourself:

Good luck!

so....
