Section names, or something like it

Word 2000.

I see there's no way of referring to sections with names.
Sections can be referenced by number, but a given section
does not retain its number if another section is inserted
before it.

Has anyone come up with a way to create static section
references so that a macro can, for instance, find and
display that section and place the cursor therein?

Dear Vincent,
I have never tried this, but I imagine that you could first bookmark the
first paragraph or header in each section with a macro by cycling through
the sections or manually. Be sure to use different names (eg. section1,
section2 or use the first heading in the section as name - replacing spaces
by underscores). Afterwards you can do whatever you want with the named
sections.

HTH,
Birgit
