Secure hidden Temp Folder and .GIF company logo

Everytime the hidden temp folder gets full, it prevents users from seeing
images in his/her Outlook 2003. And now that we've distributed a standard
company logo it fills it up quicker than usual and telling users to daily or
weekly clean this folder out would seem a bit hazardous. Who knows what else
employees will venture off to. Anyways, is there a way in Exchange Server
2003 to increase the size of this secure hidden temp folder? Or any other way
around this? Should we post the image on a Web server and point to it?

We have instructed users to go to Tools>Options>Mail Format tab; then Click
on Signatures button to customize this corporate signature by entering their
name, position, address of company, etc...then below all that info, Insert
Image.

The SecureTemp folder is only used for attachments that get opened directly
from within Outlook. It is not used for embedded pictures or signatures.
Your issue must be coming from something else.

There is no a size limitation on the folder but a naming convention
limitation; only up to 99 files with the same name can exist in that folder.
Once the counter reaches 99 and you try to open a file with the same file
name you'll get returned an error. There is no workaround for this other
then clearing the temp folder or send files with a different name.

Either way, since it is a temp folder you could also consider using a logon
script that clears the folder. This way you won't be bothering your users.

That information was very informative. And the logon script would be a better
approach. How can I go about creating a logon script to do this..do you have
a few references I can go to?

Thanks for your help.

Depends on the scripting language you want to use. You must at least query
the registry for the unique patch per user. I would recommend using vbs for
this. You can find many code samples via Google.

This is great,we've had a number of users with this problem recently But I
am not sure that a script will do the trick, since the OLK*** is different
for each user. The only thing would be to delete the contents of the
Temporary Internet Folders each time, and I am not sure that is the best
solution?

Thanks

The script would look in the registry for the path to use. The path is kept
in the same registry key on everyone's PC.
