secure smtp for project notifications

Hi everyone,
I'm installing and configuring a project server 2007 in a company, but in
their infraestructure they use a external mail server for the smtp and pop3.
The problem is that they use smtp over ssl, the port is 465.
Is it supported in project server 2007 sp1? how can i configure this? I try
to put just the port in the configuration but i don't get the mails.
