I have a web-site using publisher and I want to have a members only page
where a user name and password must be entered to access this area. Is this
possible under publisher

Yes you can have a "User name" and "Password" protected website, a webpage,
a folder.

Instructions for this will need to come from your ISP. Look at their
Support area for the details.

I'm on a UNIX server and to attain a "User name" with "Password" is
explained in 21 and 22 at,

This method works very well with my Publisher 2000 website.
I have a link on my site that takes you to a webpage and when selected asks
you for a User name and Password. After entering the correct responses and
clicking OK the webpage pops open.
