Securing Updates in Risks and Issues

I want my team to collaborate on Risks and Issues via PWA. When discussion
occurs for a risk or issue, is there a way to "lock down" the text field
where the discussion is occuring? We certainly don't want anyone to delete
something that has been posted, or change a due date for a risk or issue to
cover their backs.

Im not sure if this would fit for you. Based on existig options in WSS, you
may be able to partially control it. Try it for one list & then apply
settings to other lists.

1. Go to one list
2. Click 'Modify settings and columns' under Actions on left
3. Click 'Change permissions for this list' under 'General Settings' section
4. Click on any Site group
5. Make sure only following items are checked under Permissions.

View List Items
Add List Items
Edit List Items
Manage Personal Views

These options should be unchecked for users except those who need to manage
lists.
Manage List Permissions
Manage Lists
Delete List Items

6. Click Ok

After that those group of user will not be able to delete list items. But
they can edit the items. But with each list item you can read its changes
history. Looking at it will tell you who changed the list last time & what
was changed.

If you want to lock down the lists for certain group so that they ca't edit
the list, then you have to uncheck the 'Edit List Items' permission.

Hope that would give you some idea.
