Hi all,
I'm trying to post Word docs to a document library on the web. I saved
the docs to a directory on the web server and set them to read only, so
that the internet users can't make changes. Just to be extra safe, the
web users are in a group with read, but not write, access to that
directory. However, when a user opens one of the docs via the library,
closing the document gets him a prompt for a user name and password.
As far as I can tell, Word is still trying to save changes, despite my
attempts to stop it. Is there another setting I'm missing that will
get Word to stop trying to save changes?
Thanks,
Dave
