Security and Password settings.

Dear All,

The `usual' pre-emptive apologies from a newbie for possibly asking a
question asked many times previously. That said, if the members here are as
kind and generous-spirited as those I have met over the years at the
PowerPoint companion site...maybe you can help me.

Scenario: I'm running Win '98 ( shudders with shame ) and Office 2000...

In Word I know how to password protect a document I'm sending to a Client,
as, say, an email attachment.

If the intended recipient doesn't call me for the password - in theory- the
attachment remains un-openable! Cool.

But...

Even if I protect the attached file by adding a `modification-prevention'
additional password, it seems to me that a `reader' could a) select all,
from the opened document, be) copy / paste, co) save as under another name
and thus be able to hijack my intellectual property...

Without resorting to pdf files, is there any way to :

a) Send a Word document that only a recipient with my defined password can
open ~ ( I know the answer to that bit...) and b) makes it totally
impossible for anyone - approved recipient included - to `copy' and
thereafter modify my original document?

If I have explained the scenario poorly, please forgive me; all guidance
would be much appreciated.

Thank you and best regards,

Brian
