Security and preview pane

Hi,
I am using Outlook 2002 and have heard that using the preview pane is a
"nono" for security concerned users. Does that warning still apply (after
several SP releases)?

Ol2002 was extremely safe right out of the box. It doesn't apply to Outlook2000
and on, provided you have the latest IE patches (specifically, the ifram
patch released in 2000 or 2001) or a newer OS. OL98 isn't as safe as it
could be, but with proper care (an AV scanner) and all the OS patches,
it's safe.
