I have turned off all the features in the security center included in WinXP
service pack 2. I also unchecked all of the boxes under "Change the way
security center alerts me" to prevent the bubbles appearing at the bottom of
the screen alerting me to the fact that my PC is unprotected. However, nearly
every time I restart my computer the bubbles still appear, and when I go into
security center I find that the boxes are now checked again.
This has only started happening since I installed a fresh copy of Windows XP.
(note: I am not able to uninstall service pack 2 as it is installed with my
copy of windows)
