Security Message in Entourage 2008

Patricia

I upgraded to Office 2008 (Std upgrade) last night. Now when I download email from my ISP, I am getting a yellow band under the From/To area of an email that has an open envelope icon and the words "For your security, Entourage will block submission of this form."

II have searched the Help topics area of the program and previous threads on this forum trying to locate the schematics of this "band," which I never had in Office 2004 - no luck, so far.

Where is this coming from? What kind of form is having its submission blocked? And, what can I do about it?

Respectfully,
Patricia

Hi Patricia!

You've stumbled across a new feature in Entourage 2008 that blocks
potential phishing in E-mail messages. You can not use Entourage 2008 to
complete Internet-based forms. You will need to use Safari or another
web browser to navigate to the site and fill in the form there.

Hope this helps!

Ok - but what if you need to view the email message? I have email
from Canada Post (All of my shipping confirmation emails as I ship a
lot of packages) It isn't a form that has been submitted although I
still get the "For your security, Entourage will block submission of
this form" - Can I disable this?

After researching this a bit more I've found that I'm incorrect about
this being "Phishing" protection. It's actually "Complex HTML" protection.

From your description, it sounds like the shipping confirmation has
some sort of form included with it such as a field for you to submit
information like a password or some other piece of information. Is
Entourage not allowing you to even open the message?

Be sure to look up "Prevent complex HTML from displaying in e-mail" in
the Help --> Entourage Help. It suggests that you:

1. On the Entourage menu, click Preferences.
2. Under General Preferences, click Security.
3. Under HTML options, clear the Display complex HTML in messages check box.

Alternatively, you can use a different E-mail application such as Mail
or your ISP's webmail service to view the message.

If this bothers you or prevents you from working then please be sure to
let Microsoft know you'd like to see this feature changed in future
versions by using the Help --> Send Feedback mechanism in any Office
application.
