Security Profiles

I'm looking for a document in support of MS Project Server 2003 that shows
what each user group can see and update - at a fairly high level - in both
Project Server and the related Sharepoint Project Workspaces. It needs to
consider the user group's security category, security rules, and their
position in an RBS that was created for an enterprise configuration. The
document should be simple enough that business users can understand it and
everything I've seen is far too complicated for this purpose.

We document this type of information in our books on Project Server 2003.

Hope this helps.

I've already bought Project 2003 Que and Project 2003 Inside/Out. They have
lots of detailed information, but neither gave me the knowledge to create a
business-friendly document showing the high-level features and functionality
that each user group can expect to see after logging in, based on our
organization's RBS. So before I spend more money, can you confirm that
"Administering an Enterprise PMO using 2003" will probably meet this need?
Our RBS is a fairly simple enterprise-level reporting structure, we've only
added 2 custom user groups, and 1 new category besides the defaults, so
complexity is not an issue.

The books you have already purchased deal specifically with Microsoft
Project and not with Project Server. Our books deal specifically with
Project Server. Please feel free to download the table of contents for the
administrator's book to confirm the content you seek, but I do believe our
book will provide the knowledge you need to create the document. In our
book, we detail the exact permissions for every Group and Category, and
explain in detail how the use of the RBS field controls security in Project
Server. Hope this helps.
