Security Question on Shared Database

S

Sondra

A recent administrator of a database has left the
company. She has turned the database over to staff;
however, we keep encountering an error message that I am
having some difficulty finding a correction to.

The process is to have an access query update a template
in excel. However the following error message is coming
up:

ODBC Microsoft Access Login Driver Failed
C:\Documents and Settings\Walkerru\Desktop\Product.mdb is
not a valid path.....

I can't find the link to this. I realize the previous
administrator must have saved the database to her desktop
and its trying to access those files, but I can't find the
link in the database. Any suggestions?

The message appears when it gets to the Excel portion,
could it be in the excel programming?

Thanks in advance.

The "link" may be in the query itself. Look at the query causing the error
in SQL view. You'll need to move the file to a location you/others have
permissions to access and revise the query.
