Security update only asks for the Professional disk when I have Home edition
installed

Hi Tony,

You may be confusing MS Windows XP editions
(Home and Professional) with MS Office XP Editions
(Small Business, Standard, Student & Teachers, Professional)
Check under Add/Remove programs in the Windows control
panel to see which Microsoft Office XP Edition you
have installed and locate the matching CD.

Are you using http://officeupdate.com to check for
updates needed for Office or MS Windows update?
